Fish in the bridge pond

Since this pond is new, Mikel continues landscaping and tinkering with the system.

The pond is 3,000 gallons with one-half of the pool 4.5 feet deep and two shelves that are 18 inches deep.

Filtration is accomplished with both top and bottom drains, brushes, screen, and two boxes of lava rock.  The water is sprayed over the lava rock and kept out in the air with a large bottom drain.

A 25 foot stream runs beside the driveway and under the bridge before it empties into the pond.  The stream gets its water from the pond and is constructed so a different view is presented every 8--10 feet.

This pond is both deep enough and clear enough for Mikel to swim with the fish for some great photos!  The orange fish in the photo above is 22 inches long.
